Job Description
As a Process Operator Apprentice, you will be responsible for:
1. Monitoring and Operating Equipment:
- Manage plant equipment operations, including start-ups and shut-downs, using Distributed Control Systems and panel board instruments.
- Perform fieldwork, which includes:
- Operating indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Standing, walking, and climbing stairs and ladders.
- Working at heights and in confined spaces when necessary.
- Working 12-hour rotating shifts (day and night), as required.
- Lifting and moving loads of different weights.
2. Maintenance and Repairs:
- Conduct minor maintenance tasks on equipment.
- Collaborate with Maintenance personnel on major repairs.
3. Instruction and Procedure Compliance:
- Understand and adhere to written and verbal instructions and procedures.
4. Problem Solving:
- Troubleshoot operational issues effectively.
5. Computer Utilization:
- Access and utilize procedures and information.
- Complete required training modules.
- Input and retrieve data as needed.
6. Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety, environmental, and company policies and regulations.
- Wear necessary personal protective equipment, which may include safety glasses, fire-retardant coveralls, safety boots, hard hats, and face shields.
7. Housekeeping and Organization:
- Maintain plant and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
8. Dependability:
- Consistently report to work as scheduled, arrive on time, and be available for overtime when necessary.
9. Judgment and Initiative:
- Demonstrate sound judgment and initiative in utilizing time and resources efficiently.
10. Team Collaboration:
- Work effectively as part of a team.

Training Requirements (after reporting to work):
- Complete a 2 - 3-year apprenticeship program that includes:
- Classroom (books, hands-on labs, tests) - this portion is done primarily on the apprentice's own time
- On-the-job training
- On-going satisfactory performance
- Quarterly evaluations/feedback
- Maintain current status on all procedural and safety training
Required Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must have a valid state motor vehicle driver's license
Education: High School Diploma/GED
Job Requirements:
Minimum WorkKeys scores of:
•Applied Math – Operator 5
•Graphic Literacy – Operator 4
•Workplace Documents – Operator 5
Applied Technology - no minimum required, but scores are still a factor and reviewed by hiring managers
•Successful completion of Select Assessment ® for Manufacturing administered by Talogy
