Responsibilities

Eastman seeks a technically adept, innovation-oriented information professional who is knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the changing nature of information  services and technologies. This person will provide critical, decision-ready information research to the global business and technical community. Located in the corporate innovation organization, this position includes engagement with technology and business teams to lead information discovery, proactive analysis, and content creation as well as library and information services innovation strategy responsibilities.

Primary Responsibilities:
The candidate will:
Provide strategic research with a focus on market potential, competitive intelligence, financial, and economic research, in addition to general research support and analysis 
Partner with client cross-functional teams to proactively deliver information, strategy, and value-added research by identifying, analyzing, and conveying business and technical information 
Consult with individual clients and project teams to identify a comprehensive set of discovery questions and to develop a targeted information acquisiton strategy. 
Create, publish, and maintain specialized content in specific topic areas of critical need to the organization
Evaluate and recommend innovations in emerging technologies for information management including trends in information discovery, delivery, and text analysis 
Serve as steward for designated information resources whose responsibilities include being the content expert, understanding client needs, analyzing usage statistics, assessing value vs. cost, coordinating vendor visits / relationships, and driving client communications and publicity      
Elevate the overall information proficiency and productivity of the organization through client mentoring, training development/delivery and targeted consulting.  

Qualifications

Skills, Capabilities, Experiences, and Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, and an ALA accredited Master's degree, or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training. Previous experience in a business or chemistry setting is preferred; MBA a plus.
Ability to communicate well with both colleagues and internal clients at all levels of the organization. An outgoing and proactive approach to communication and problem solving is essential 
Ability to provide information leadership to business and technical project teams and guide team information needs within a collaborative framework
Demonstrated skills in aggregating, organizing, and analyzing complex, multi-source information. Additional expertise in post processing and analysis of voluminous amounts of data is a plus
Ability to complete research processes from inception to conclusion, synthesizing information from multiple sources, providing clear high-level analysis via a variety of delivery platforms
Self-directed and possessing a creative approach to information research. Well organized and able to adapt in a fast-paced evolving environment is critical 
Business acumen, curiosity, and an ability to approach challenges from a strategic perspective required  
Ability to work effectively with individuals with diverse business and cultural experiences a must.
