Responsibilities
This position acts as the Division Representative for multiple operational areas at the TNO site. Assistance/guidance for waste disposal needs, in compliance with applicable laws, rules, & regulations is the primary function. Additionally, guidance for compliance with other regulatory programs (e.g. NPDES, SPCC, OCS) and company initiatives as required. Collaboration with operations staff, disposal facility staff, and other Environmental Operations staff is required.
The role includes preparing information related to the Annual RCRA Hazardous Waste report, Toxic Release Inventory report, Benzene NESHAP, and other reporting as necessary for the areas represented. This reporting requires collaboration with Environmental Operations Kingsport staff members, operations staff members, as well as interaction with Division level leadership.
Offsite waste shipments for the areas represented is a responsibility for this role.
Recordkeeping for manifests, processes, and procedures is expected.
Escorting of regulatory agencies for inspections of the areas of representation is required. Regular field visits and internal audits of the areas assigned are expected.
Other duties as assigned.
This individual will become an expert technical resource for environmental issues at Tennessee Operations.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Manage environmental permitting, compliance, and reporting requirements for Tennessee Operations.
• Provide on-going regulatory guidance and support for Tennessee Operations.
• Review capital projects to determine the regulatory impacts and permitting needs.
• Represent Eastman Chemical in dealings with local, State, and Federal regulatory authorities.
• Serve in the on-call rotation to respond to plant environmental emergencies.
• Participate in compliance audits of Eastman sites and in business assessments of customers, suppliers, and vendors
