Eastman is currently seeking a Full-Time X-Ray Technician

 

The following essential elements are general duties that represent the broad spectrum of job assignments.  The level of responsibility and job duties within the job assignment are commensurate with established company-wide requirements.

  • Prepare patients for radiologic procedures. Escort patients to dressing and x-ray rooms, provide verbal and/or written instructions as assist patients in positioning body parts to be radiographed. Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure patient care, safety and comfort during scan.
  • Operate radiologic equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
  • Position radiologic equipment and adjust control to set exposure time and distance according to specification of examination
  • Take x-rays following established radiologic requirements and regulations to ensure patient care and safety
  • Operate digital X-Ray machine and digitally process radiologic film on DICOM and send the across via PACS
  • Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure safety of patients and team members
  • Ensure radiologic equipment remains in working order. Report equipment malfunctions to Practice Manager or Supervisor
  • Perform related administrative duties including completing necessary forms, labeling films and film envelopes and maintaining procedure logs.
  • Retrieve radiologic order from and input related data into the electronic medical record.
  • Maintain adequate radiologic supplies.
  • Serve as a back-up for clinical team members as needed by controlling patient flow, obtaining blood pressure measurements, documenting vital signs in the EMR.

 

The requirements that an individual must possess to perform the essential elements of the job:

 

Job skills, educational background, training requirements or training required:

  • Knowledge of radiation safety techniques: Collimation, Radiation Monitoring, Protection (Time, Distance, and Shielding)
  • Operational knowledge of computerized/digital radiography is preferred
  • PACS Operating Knowledge
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills required
  • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness
  • Adapt to change in work environment, manage competing demands
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in applied science with a concentration in radiology. Must have the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Certification.

 

License/Certification Required:

 

  • ARRT-registered or board eligible preferred. X-ray certification for the state of Tennessee is required (limited license or license eligible accepted).
  • Ideal applicants will have minimum 1-year experience (musculoskeletal heavily preferred). Will need to be capable and willing to obtain; breath alcohol certification, NIOSH Spirometry Certification, Audiometric Certification, BLS, State of TN Department of Health X-ray Certificate.

 

Physical requirements:

  • Be able to move effectively around the clinic and WREMP area
  • Be able to communicate verbally, electronically and in writing
  • Must be able to walk, sit and stand
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
