Description

The Tax Manager’s responsibility is managing the company’s ASC 740 requirements related to the international entities, supporting the SEC reporting function related to tax matters, and assisting in the preparation of the tax footnote.  The Tax Manager is also responsible for supporting international aspects of the U.S. compliance processes.  The development of effective working relationships with management, as well as finance and other operating personnel, is required.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage tax accounting provision process for international entities under ASC 740 in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley 404 on a quarterly basis, including review of local country provisions for international entities, reporting of income tax contingencies (FIN 48), return-to-provision true-up reviews, and supporting the company’s annual audit and quarterly reviews with external auditors
  • Responsible for certain aspects of the international tax compliance processes associated with the U.S. Tax Return including U.S. taxes on foreign earnings, foreign tax credits, GILTI, FDII, BEAT, etc.
  • Assist with preparation/review of 5471s, 8865s, 8858s, etc.
  • Proactively identify potential tax savings opportunities
  • Research international tax laws, and track, analyze and communicate impacts of proposed international tax law changes
  • Assist with tax due diligence on potential acquisitions
  • Provide tax guidance to business units on tax aspects of their activities
  • Manage compliance with SOX controls related to international entities
  • Provide tax analysis for the Annual Report Footnote and SEC reporting
  • Responsible for purchase accounting entries related to taxes, calculation of tax bases and maintenance of deferred tax accounts for international entities

 

Reporting Relationships

  • Reports to the Senior Tax Manager

 

Job Requirements/Qualifications

 

Education:  BS/BA in Accounting or Finance is required
                     CPA and Masters of Taxation are preferred

 

Experience:  7-10 years in a large corporate tax environment, which may be in industry, Big 4 or similar

 

Desired Skills/Attributes:

 

  • Extensive knowledge of tax accounting principles and international tax laws
  • Corporate experience with global operations strongly preferred
  • Experience utilizing tax and research tools (e.g., CCH, RIA, BNA)
  • Experience with tax provision preparation software and demonstrated ability to implement process improvement solutions (e.g., OneSource, CorpTax)
  • SOX compliance experience
  • Ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines
  • Detail oriented; strong research and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills (oral/written) and interpersonal skills; solid team player
