The Senior Tax Manager – International is responsible for  (1) managing strategic international tax planning opportunities, (2) making key contributions and continuing to develop and enhance the global tax team, (3) supporting the quarterly and annual ASC 740 financial reporting process, (4) supporting the annual U.S. international tax reporting and compliance process, and (5) managing both U.S. and local country controversy related activities.  This position reports to the Director – Global Tax Provision & Planning.  The development of effective working relationships with key finance and business personnel on a global scale is required.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Identify, develop and implement tax planning strategies designed to achieve the Company’s financial objectives, including:  optimization of non-U.S. income taxes, effective management and utilization of key Company tax attributes, optimization of the Company’s legal entity structure in light of tax legislation in the U.S. and abroad, and positively impact shareholder value.
  • Proactively develop and mentor direct reports with a focus on making positive contributions toward strengthening the global tax team as a whole.
  • Provide meaningful support of quarterly and annual global tax provision processes, including heavy involvement in subpart F, GILTI, FDII and other U.S. international tax related concepts.
  • Support international aspects of U.S. tax compliance and reporting processes through involvement with Forms 5471, 8858 and 1118.
  • Manage international tax component of the Company’s IRS audits.  Review scope of audit with agents, manage IDR responses, identify issues and resolutions favorable to the Company, and negotiate with agents to resolve issues.  Also, aid in the management of foreign tax audits in collaboration with local tax and finance teams.
  • Identify, evaluate and advise management on income tax consequences of legislative developments in the U.S. and abroad, as well as current and proposed transactions.
  • Support any potential acquisitions or post-acquisition integration related planning.

 

Qualifications

 

Education: CPA and Masters of Taxation, or JD and LLM in Taxation are preferred.

 

Experience: 12+ years of experience in a large corporate tax environment, which may be in industry, Big 4 or similar.   Must include International tax involvement and demonstrated leadership positions.
