Role Description:

The Manufacturing Systems Analyst is responsible for a broad range of IT activities in support of applications used by manufacturing functions at Eastman.  Role requires gaining in-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and software applications that enable those processes (ex: OSIsoft-PI (Event Frames, AF, Vision), SAP,  along with a variety of process specific applications built primarily on Microsoft platforms  C#, VB.Net).  This position has active engagement with Business Partners in Manufacturing, Process Engineering, and Quality with a focus on delivering solutions that address evolving business needs.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Expand on foundational understanding and grow an in-depth understanding of business processes and software applications supporting Manufacturing processes.
  • Provide day-to-day application support: Address broke/fix, provide consultation, investigate data issues.
  • Sustain existing applications by addressing version upgrades, support packs, patches or software obsolescence.   
  • For new business needs, participate in all stages of the software project life-cycle.
  • Lead projects of low-medium complexity.
  • Participate in cross-team projects or large corporate efforts.
  • Actively identify improvement opportunities

 

Functional Skills and Capabilities:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Must be a self-starter with high level of initiative with good follow-thru.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Solid interpersonal skills, positive contributor to team chemistry and relationship with business partners.
  • Strong interest in learning about Eastman business processes and software applications that enable those processes.
  • Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) experience
  • Experience with OSIsoft PI process historian software
  • General understanding of DCS systems and shop floor applications
  • General understanding of SAP integration with manufacturing related applications Experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience with Net programming languages including C#,VB.Net,
  • Experience with Windows Services, REST services (WEB API), MVC, Single Page applications, Windows Applications.
  • Experience with continuous integration, continuous deployment, Azure DevOps, Git, TFS is a plus
  • Ability to work independently.

 

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or other comparable degree. (required)
  • 3+ years related work experience. (preferred)
  • Previous manufacturing or manufacturing support experience. (preferred)
