Eastman is seeking an experienced and highly-motivated Director of Marketing Communications to lead our global team in the development, execution and measurement of communication programs aligned with company and business strategies to deliver top line growth.  The Director is responsible for identifying and developing the overall strategy for marketing communications and will include overseeing the development and execution of communication plans including creation of marketing materials, advertising, events, digital content and communications.  The successful candidate will possess robust subject matter expertise, a high digital acumen and the ability to lead and influence across the enterprise at all levels while building and developing a thriving team. 


 

Specific Responsibilities include:

 

  • Develops and builds a strong, multi-disciplinary, in-house agency team to deliver the necessary capabilities and content to support business needs aligned to their strategy
  • Acts as a thought leader in shaping and positioning go-to-market strategies and enhancing the customer experience leveraging leading practices in content marketing and digital customer experience journeys
    • Regularly engages with business and senior leadership stakeholders to gain insights necessary to lead communications strategy development and establish positioning that is differentiated in the minds of customers within target segments
    • Responsible for translating and executing marketing objectives through the collaborative development of key messaging concepts, copy and design direction, digital leadership and hands-on execution as needed in support of overall corporate positioning, branding and company goals
    • Monitors market and competitive factors to capitalize on opportunities, minimize the effects of competitive activity and deliver effective messaging within the marketplace.
    • Ensures that marketing collateral, event branding, theming, product naming, digital marketing, design and content and advertising concepts position our brand consistently and with leadership impact to customers, partners and media audiences
    • Responsible for creating breakthrough concepts and establishing best practices and standards that help us effectively bring our company’s brand, leadership and offerings to target markets
    • Track, measure and report on the impact/effectiveness of marketing communications programs and initiatives
    • Builds a core set of agency partners and tools to supplement the in-house team in certain capability areas and allocates work as needed across vendors to complete projects on time and within budget
  • Leads, develops, inspires and motivates a global team to produce high quality results on time and within budget as well as anticipating future needs and building a pipeline of relevant and diverse talent

 

 

Desired Skills and Experience:

 

  • Minimum of ten to fifteen years of diverse marketing experience including in strategic marketing, creative direction, branding, digital marketing leadership, and/or art direction with heavy emphasis on concept/copy development in an agency or corporate environment (50% corporate)
  • Ten plus years of leading a team (including a global team) of marketing professionals, experience in building, mentoring, coaching marketing, digital and creative teams to elevate their creative and business results impact
  • Ability to think strategically and analytically and make sound decisions quickly and efficiently.  Delivers multiple work streams on time and on budget
  • Innovative thinker with a track record for translating strategic thinking into action plans and desired results
  • Demonstrated knowledge and team leadership of digital marketing technologies and strategies including an integrated customer experience, website development, mobile applications, SEO, SEM, and content management
  • Proven experience in conceptualizing and executing marketing concepts that drive differentiation
  • Superior communication and presentation skills both orally and in written form with a clear and concise manner specific to audiences. Also required is a superior attention to details.
  • Exceptional organization skills and the ability to deal independently with many issues at one time and prioritize accordingly.
  • Proven track record of the ability to lead and work through influence with business partners and with cross-functional/multi-disciplined teams including but not limited to: Marketing and Product Management, Technology, IT, Sales, senior leadership and external vendors, customers and partners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce.com, Marketo, and other digital tools and services
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications or related field. An MBA is preferred.
