Position Summary: The position is responsible for cost analysis for the Coatings & Inks business group and regional financial analysis support for EMEA


Job Responsibilities and Duties:

The position serves as an active product cost advisor to global product management team in support of key Coatings & Inks growth platforms (Polyester/Ketones). The Polyester growth platform support is critical in finding innovative ways to understand/develop cost estimates for many products produced in a R&D facility with intent of producing in larger scale plant in the future. This is often a challenge with many unknowns and requires a highly motivated person to develop a core understanding of cost structure and effectively communicate to product team to ensure good business decisions.

Position also serves as a regional financial analyst for EMEA commercial management team. This responsibility provides junior level exposure to financial analyst responsibilities as a development opportunity.


Coatings and Inks specific responsibilities:

  • Monthly actual versus forecast variance analysis               
    • Review raw material variances
    • Review product and other cost variances
    • Complete monthly and quarterly cost waterfalls
  • Review and correct Coatings and Inks forecast cost estimates
  • Forecast Analysis
    • Review raw material variances for the required waterfalls for the current forecast cycle
    • Review product and other cost variances for the required cycles
    • Enter cost adjustments into ALPS system if/when needed
    • Complete required waterfalls for the current forecast cycle
    • Attend Finance review meetings to present and review product cost waterfalls with business management
  • Regional reporting and financial analysis support for EMEA leadership team
  • Provide cost analysis for product managers regarding new/current products including growth programs.


Education & Skills:

  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Masters Degree is preferred.
  • Proficiency in use of appropriate software applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Ability to flex hours to meet deadlines, accounting closing schedules, and to meet urgent information needs
  • Good data analysis skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
