Business Solutions Analyst II role is responsible for a broad range of IT activities in support of software applications used by various business functions at Eastman. Assignments are normally aligned with one of Eastman’s end-to-end processes (ex: Order-to-Cash, Source-to-Pay, Mfg-to-Stock). Role requires gaining in-depth knowledge of assigned business processes and software apps that enable those processes (ex: SAP/Salesforce/OSI-PI/OMP, along with many custom apps built primarily on SAP or Microsoft platforms).

Role has active engagement with Business Partners to solve issues or deliver new capability. For new needs, will engage software vendors or Eastman centralized development teams to deliver capability.

Role has expertise, contribution, leadership and communication expectations above the Business Solutions Analyst I level.  



For assigned area of responsibility

  • Expand on foundational understanding and grow an in-depth understanding of business processes and software applications that enable those processes.
  • Provide day-to-day application support: Address broke/fix, provide consultation, investigate data issues.
  • Sustain-the-utility by addressing version upgrades, 

         support packs, patches or software obsolescence.   

  • For new business needs, participate in stages of the software project life-cycle that might include:

            -Requirements gathering

            -Investigation of solution options (Purchased vs Custom)




  • Lead projects of low-medium complexity.
  • Participate in cross-team projects or large corporate efforts.
  • Actively identify improvement opportunities.


  • Maintain technical skills required by assignment. 
  • Build positive relationship with business partners.
  • Collaborate with other team members and promote team chemistry.

  • 4-yr degree or equivalent experience
  • Preferred branch of study: Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Accounting, Finance, Mathematics or comparable degrees
  • Understanding of core ABAP concepts, Object Oriented Programming, strong debugging experience, User exits, BAPI, and BADIs
  • Experience in SAP FI configuration and business processes.
  • Experience in Asset Accounting, Project Systems and global Corporate Tax is preferred.  OneSource experience is a plus.
  • Capable of preparing comprehensive and thorough technical program documentation including specifications, test conditions, test plans and test data
  • Experience with Agile methodology is a plus
  • Worksoft experience is a plus
