The Role 

The Agile Coach in Eastman’s EIM (Enterprise Information Management) organization is responsible for coaching agile teams for the effective and efficient delivery of quality products or services to business partners by practicing iterative development. The Agile Coach is responsible for guiding the development team and the product owners through the agile ceremonies and processes. The Coach will be a catalyst for positive change on how we deliver products and services. The Coach will also be responsible to educate our partners on the principles of agile and show the value of the agile practice. We expect Coaches to understand the business problem the team is trying to solve and provide valuable ideas.

  • Be a self-starter, not an order taker
  • Engage clients to adopt to the agile principles and practices to produce highly functional products
  • Prioritize work, handle multiple tasks, achieve goals and help your agile team deliver timely and accurate results
  • Constantly look for ways to improve things, not only for yourself and your workgroup, but also for your clients 
  • Work collaboratively in small teams to improve the operations of immediate work group by offering ideas, identifying issues, and respecting team members
  • Apply strong business acumen and always learning the business problem and its impact that the team is trying to solve 



Job Requirements / Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in information technology or business OR another discipline with demonstrated strong project management skills 
  • For candidates external to Eastman, we’d like to see at least a few years’ experience in providing agile coaching support for development teams
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • Ability to multi-task through good organizational skills 
  • Demonstrated initiative and follow-through 
  • Polished presentation skills 
  • Influence without authority
  • Good team player
