This role will be based in our production plant in Belgium  - Ghent North


Objective of the role

▪ Responsible for procurement of Packaging materials and labels and technical equipment and/or Engineering services, in order to obtain the best total cost of ownership and best supply situation for Eastman.
▪ Conduct spot buys and bids for strategic and non-strategic categories
▪ Complete all procurement activities from start to finish through execution of Procure-to-Pay (P2P)

▪ Back-up for the Procurement Manager when he is away from office.

Key responsibilities are :

  • Processes purchase orders, as needed
  • Runs bids and spot buys
  • Demonstrates commercial skills by negotiating and evaluating suppliers
  • Leads day-to-day interactions with suppliers & internal stakeholders to maximize connectivity
  • Develops long-term relationships with key suppliers
  • Develops & negotiates white paper contracts
  • Creates and manages Outline Agreements for strategic categories, identifies value leakage
  • Identifies and develops cost savings projects
  • Evaluates and executes supplier selections
  • Support cross-site collaboration efforts
  • Support emergency issues including products or services
  • Works to minimize the total cost of transactions
  • Uphold internal and external policies, regulations and laws


Candidate profile

  • Bachelor or Master degree in technical area (engineering /mechanics /automation / chemistry/...)
  • 2 years procurement experience preferred
  • Capable of understanding purchasing and supply chain management
  • Ability to manage procure-to-pay process
  • Ability to gain mastery of SAP procurement tools
  • Ability to gain mastery of Microsoft Office Tools
  • Ability to comply with existing/quickly adapt to new processes within the organization
  • Strong interpersonal skills; Able to forge internal customer/external supplier relationships
  • Service oriented with strong communication
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude
