Role Description

To sustain and support the growth of the global paints, coatings and inks market, Eastman is looking for a highly motivated individual to join the Product Steward & Regulatory Affairs (PSRA) team. The Product Steward Representative is the key link between the business and technology partners, and the larger Global PSRA team.  This role develops a deep understanding of the specific C&I product lines, the necessary regulatory clearances and third-party certifications required to enable continued market access for existing products and new product launches based on a defined Asia Pacific (AP) and global business strategy.  Current regulatory initiatives in the region comprise about 50 % of the job with the remainder of the role supporting the PSRA subject matter experts.  

Key Responsibilities:
•    Relationship Management:  Build close relationships with AP C&I business and technology personnel, Global Product Stewardship & Regulatory Affairs colleagues, Trade Associations and/or NGOs.
•    Project leadership:  Develop AP regional product regulatory clearance and/or third-party certification strategies and implementation plans by working closely with Product Management, PSRA regulatory experts and regional PSRA personnel, as appropriate.  
•    Regulatory understanding:  Monitor and communicate international, national regulations in addition to proposed regulations that are relevant to the C&I AP business organization and other assigned expert area.
•    Customer Inquiries and Communication:  Facilitate external communication of regulatory topics by answering specific regulatory questions to our customers via Eastman’s Customer Inquiry Management system, and business and technology partners.
 

Basic Qualifications:

•    Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry, polymer science, or related technical degree with a 4+ years’ experience in the chemical industry required.
•    Experience in Chemical Product Regulatory areas and/or Product Stewardship roles.
•    Experience in understanding regulatory requirements for Coatings and Inks and/or Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) in different segment markets including, but not limited to, Architectural, Automotive, Packaging, etc.
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills English
•    Ability to translate regulatory information clearly and concisely throughout all levels of the organization.
•    Manage time independently and work proactively with peers, management, and external stakeholders.


Preferred Qualifications: 
•    Project management or project leader experience preferred.
•    Strong team player, results-orientated and self-motivated
•    Flexible team player willing to learn new skills and assigned tasks for the support of the entire PSRA organization.
